Road Closure

The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to shut down an intersection in Columbiana County on Monday.

ODOT says it will close State Route 558 at State Route 164.

Route 164  is already closed at the intersection as part of a $463,000 safety improvement project.

ODOT says it plans to open both roads before the July 4th holiday.

Paving work will resume after the holiday with traffic being maintained by flaggers.

State Route 164 traffic is being detoured on U.S. Route 30 east to State Route 11 north to State Route 344 east back to State Route 164 south.

State Route 558 traffic will be detoured on State Route 517 west to State Route 45 north back to State Route 558 east.

The project is designed to improve the existing sight distance and roadway design by reconstructing over 900 feet of State Route 164 and over 400 feet of State Route 558.

The project completion date is August 15.
