Dedham School PTF Meeting Notes

Date & Time: Wednesday, June 11, 2025; 5:30 p.m.

Location: Music Room (Library if Music Room is not available)

1. Welcome & Introductions

● Attendance and Roll Call: Jerry Troger Katie McCourt, Larry Clement, Douglas Wright

● Review and approval of May minutes (approved)

2. Treasurer’s Report

● Checking balance: $12,354.34

● Scrip balance: $2,696.54

Incoming Funds:

● $250.00 – Color Run Sponsor

● $500.00 – Donation from Robbie and Carrie Jardine

• $500.00 – from Jerry’s firm

Outgoing Funds:

● $346.50 – 8th Grade T-Shirts (formal vote to approve from the $300 – approved)

● $699.00 – 8th Grade Flowers (vote needed to approve overage from original $600 – approved)

○ Kathy Snyder – this will be her last year organizing the flowers

● $163.44 – Field Day reimbursement (we approved up to $300)

3. Requests for Funds

● Commemorative Tree (magnolia - Jane) & plaque for D. Frederick’s Retirement

$600, planting, hydration setup included

$750 with the plaque (approved)

4. Committee Updates

● Fundraising

○ Yard Sale Update: overall it felt a success, more vendors would’ve been nice but the foot traffic was good. The focus of the clothes didn’t work as well as we thought it might, no one was buying the surplus of winter jackets, and discussed scheduling a second yard sale nearer winter. 

○ Color Run / Field Day Debrief: volunteers turnout and signup genius worked really well. Kudos to Katie, Madeline & Brook. Mr. Pearson was especially grateful for the pickup assistance, it went fast with all the hands.

○ New Sound System: Katie reached out via email to NESCOM, no response. Tom to reach out to Ms Briggs regarding grants and estimate, Jerry to follow up.

● Upcoming Events

○ Shaw’s Concert Parking – August 30, Melissa Etheridge: ask this year’s room parents to reach critical mass, otherwise we may forfeit the funds.

○ October Officers’ Elections

•  Trunk or treat: Oct 25, Saturday (preliminary date)

5. New / Old Business

• vice president role to Katie McCourt

● August meeting – 08 / 13 via Zoom or Google Meets
