January College & Career News
Happy New Year! As we begin the semester, I want to remind students that I'm available to discuss career paths, college applications, or help with FAFSA. If you're interested, please email me or stop by Room 204. juanrodriguez@vistausd.org
Also, I’m excited to invite students interested in the medical field to Health Week at a local high school on Friday, January 29. It will feature guest speakers and presenters – a great opportunity to learn more about careers in healthcare.
Additionally, there’s a Miracosta Community College trip on February 7 focused on first-generation Latinx students. It’s a wonderful chance to explore resources and support for college-bound students.
Lastly, I am available on Thursday evenings from 4 to 7 PM to assist students and parents with tech issues or setting up emails. Feel free to drop by if you need help!
Looking forward to seeing you soon
Giving without expecting anything in return is a virtue rooted in the purity of our feelings. It is a fundamental social skill that helps us connect with others. This theme emerged spontaneously during the last December Coffee with the Principal.
During this gathering, some parents brought delicious dishes such as chicken pozole, cookies, eggs, and snacks, which they happily shared with other parents, administrators, teachers, and staff of Murray High School, who thoroughly enjoyed tasting the flavorful pozole.
We also highlighted the importance of educational issues for our students, with three couples in attendance. Special recognition was given to the mothers who were present, many of whom take on both parental roles.

At our Murray community school, we were pleased again to support several of our students with shoes provided by our exceptional partner, Anthem Church. On December 14, as in previous years, they hosted the "Local Love" program, culminating in a Christmas party that offered fun for families in the City of Vista.
We are excited to see the 13 students who received shoes walking around campus in their new footwear this January.
We are very grateful to parents who, concerned for the welfare of their children, accept the invitation to register on time to get shoes for their children.
Major General Raymond Murray High School is committed to preparing students to progress academically, to achieve success, and to accept responsibility for themselves. As a part of this commitment, the school has established attendance performance guidelines for all students.
