October was a busy month at Alta, marked by several key events and initiatives. We began the month with our first CSAC meeting, followed by ongoing Student Advisory Rep Council meetings. Additionally, we gathered valuable insights from students through a College & Career Survey, which highlighted a diverse array of interests.
Our community engagement efforts were robust. We participated in the inaugural Community School Coalition meeting, and a group of students took part in a Public Service Career Fair. We also organized a family-friendly event featuring pumpkin decorating, succulent basket making, and face painting, which was well-received. Our second Coffee with the Principal meeting attracted a good turnout, and representatives from VCC visited to promote their mobile medical unit.
The month also included our 3rd annual Fall Festival and a financial aid workshop. Mira Costa College made multiple visits to campus, providing students with information about their programs and answering questions. The Student Nutrition Advisory Council held a meeting, and students toured the new Mira Costa nursing facility. Graduating seniors engaged in a financial aid webinar, while representatives from Palomar College also visited.
To wrap up October, students attended a construction career fair at Vista High, along with an in-house fair at Alta. We hosted our annual Pumpkin Relay and continued to offer tutoring sessions and job support services, ensuring that students received comprehensive assistance throughout the month.
