Principal's Message
Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter! This month, Alta Vista High School and Murray High School have had a lot of fantastic events, so please use the "CS Communicator" dropdown menu at the top right to view the newsletter for your student's school.
First off, Murray High School would like to congratulate our VUSD Rising Star Senior of the Month, Ariel Robles! Here, Ariel's advisor, support staff, and family members join her to speak on her amazing growth and trajectory. Congratulations, Ariel!
Our students at Alta Vista High School are preparing every day for the world of work and for the next step after high school. After preparing resumes, cover letters, and practicing interview skills, AVHS joined almost 30 community members, (including Vista Kiwanis Club, VUSD Board Member Rena Marrocco, Mira Costa College representatives, and so many others, listed below) to engage in mock interviews. THANK YOU to our community volunteers for providing a place for students to practice these important skills.
Happy holidays to all of our students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members. We are thankful for your involvement at AVHS and MGM, and we hope you have a restful and rejuvenating holiday season. Students' last day of school is Wednesday, December 20. Winter break is from December 21 to January 9, and our schools and offices are closed. Students return to class on January 10th at 8:45am (AVHS) / 9:00am (MGM).
Finally, please consider joining us for our Posada on Tuesday, December 19th at 9:30 am. The amazing staff at Murrah High School has organized a morning full of traditional events with piñatas, food, music, and a lot of celebration. We would love to see you there!
