This month, I’m excited to offer several opportunities to support our students:
● Wednesday Group Support: I will be meeting with students who are enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Child Development class to help them as a group. This is a great opportunity to collaborate and ensure everyone stays on track.
● FAFSA & Career Opportunities: If you need help with your FAFSA or would like to explore career options, you can make an appointment with me for one-on-one support.
● Evening Hours on Thursdays: I’m available from 4 to 7 PM during evening school hours to meet with both parents and students. We can discuss post-graduation plans, career paths, and more.
● Palomar College: General Presentation and Assistance workshop on Thursday, November 14 during evening program hours.
A parent network has been established to offer a variety of products and services. These include car cleaning, home installation services, musical groups, beauty products, Oaxaca crafts, and income taxes.
You can access these services by clicking this link and connecting with parents eager to expand their client base and support their families.
Remember, supporting local businesses helps boost the economy of our city and keeps more money within our community. Additionally, enjoy the personalized shopping experience with Vista members.
Cooking at home and using plants as medicine is part of many traditions around the world. They teach families how to eat healthily, utilize nature to improve their well-being, and strengthen family bonds.
In terms of food, some communities have been so meticulous in their cooking that the aromas and flavors of their cuisine have earned them recognition as World Heritage Sites. By utilizing local products and preserving ancestral techniques passed down over centuries, these communities showcase their cultural identity.
For the reasons mentioned above, we are inviting all members of the school community (students, parents, teachers, employees, and community members) to share their recipes for food and natural remedies. We aim to create a digital book that will serve as a legacy for future generations of our community.
You can send your recipes to our Community Liaison, Susana Valenzuela, at MariaValenzuelaqui@vistausd.org, or you can hand them in person at the Murray High School office.
November 7, 2024, is our Community School Advisory and School Site Council. We invite you to refer to the flyer and mark your calendars for the upcoming meetings. If necessary, please seek permission from your workplace to attend and support your students.
Major General Raymond Murray High School is committed to preparing students to progress academically, to achieve success, and to accept responsibility for themselves. As a part of this commitment, the school has established attendance performance guidelines for all students.
