April 2024 Edition 6
Murray High School's faculty and staff are proud to announce Mercedes Hartdegen as the Student of the Month for April 2024. Mercedes was nominated by Mr. John Noonan. Mercedes was such a pleasure to nominate because she is one of the most personable and amiable young people on this campus. She combines a great wit and sense of humor with a good deal of sarcasm that exudes a terrific personal confidence in herself. She always has a smile and she treats both staff and peers with dignity and respect. I know she will be a tremendous graduate of Murray High and a fine example of what it means to be a "Bulldog!!!"
COLLEGE & CAREER TECH
Hello everyone, I'm Manny Rodriguez, your new Career & College Tech at General Murray High School. I'm thrilled to join the team and embark on this journey of guiding students towards their college and career aspirations. My passion lies in helping students navigate the application process for community colleges or universities, including filling out their FAFSA forms. To enhance their understanding and opportunities, I'll be organizing regular trips to local community colleges and universities.
Beyond academics, I'm committed to connecting students with practical skills and certifications in fields such as electrical apprenticeships, the automotive industry, and welding.
As a bilingual educator, I'm here to support students and families, offering assistance in both English and Spanish.
Stop by my desk in room 204 to say hello or to discuss your college and career goals. I'm eager to collaborate with you all and make a positive impact together!
The long-awaited day is almost here - your students are only weeks away from graduation! We recommend that you order your student's cap and gown along with any other graduation items they may be interested in, well in advance. We have attached a PDF file with all the necessary information. If you have trouble accessing the websites mentioned in the flyer, you can find them below:

Art on school garden benches
Learn and practice pyrography at Murray High School. This ancient technique was used by the Egyptians and Chinese, as well as famous artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Rembrandt.
Pyrography involves burning designs into wood using a pyrograph or pyrography pen, which uses electricity to heat metal tips to create different tones and textures. We invite you to practice this art in the new school garden of our community school.
You can either provide your design or choose one from our catalog. No experience is required, and we provide the tools. Call us today (760) 631-2502 extensión 89008.
The student Hayde Lopez tracing the design.
