So far this year, students have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of Leave to Learn experiences. These include a scavenger hunt around downtown Vista, a day trip to Palomar College to meet with the Rising Scholars and watch the premier of Almost Home, an overnight camping trip to the San Diego Safari Park, and a visit to Mira Mesa for the MCAS Airshow.
Additionally, we had a great turnout for our annual Back to School Night event that included a variety of lawn games, community partner information tables, and a delicious barbeque dinner with families and staff, cooked by our very own Sergio Cruz. We also had the Registrar of Voters come to campus to assist students with Voter Registration and we have begun holding meetings with our student representatives who were nominated by their advisory teachers to be part of our Student Advisory Council.
We have also begun our dual-enrollment Child Development classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-10 at MGM, which offers students the opportunity to earn both elective high school credit and college credit at the same time.
Congratulations to our Rising Star for the Month of September, Rafael Cabrera Escobedo and thank you to Coach Gotteman for recommending him!
