Dear Students, Families, and Community Members:
Welcome to the Community School Communicator! This is the monthly newsletter for the two Continuation High Schools in Vista Unified: Murray High School and Alta Vista High School!
I hope your holiday season was filled with rest, joy, and quality time with loved ones. As we return to school this new year, I’m excited to share that our teachers spent two days last week deeply engaged in professional learning focused on preparing students for success beyond high school. They explored ways to enhance internships, real-world experiences, and dynamic learning activities that equip students for their next chapter.
Looking back, December was filled with meaningful moments. We wrapped up the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE), a powerful program that empowers families with strategies to support their children’s academic success. Thank you to all the families who participated—your commitment makes a lasting difference! At Alta Vista, our community came together for a festive Posada, with incredible food shared by many generous parents. Your support and involvement made it a truly memorable event!
Here’s to a fantastic start to 2025, filled with growth, learning, and continued partnership. Thank you for all you do!
