Preschool & Culinary Internships

6 MGM students started new internships this last month.

Students are interning at our local EES Preschool and coastal restaurants: The Plot, Wrench & Rodent, and Matsu.

City of Vista Public Works Internship

Open to both MGM & AVHS Students.

Students will also earn PE credits.

Internship Placements:

We had multiple students earn internship opportunities with the City of Vista Public Works, Garden 31, City of Vista Fire Department.We also have students pursuing internships at EES Preschools throughout the district.

2025 internships coming- mobile welding, personal trainer, hvac, pet sitting, barbershop, culinary and more.

UPCOMING PM School On Campus Resource- Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) engages, empowers and transforms families by providing the knowledge and skills to partner with schools and communities to ensure their students achieve their full potential.

As we approach graduation, it’s essential for students to apply for FAFSA and the California Promise program. In addition, there are scholarships available to help with your post-graduation plans. Whether you’re interested in exploring community college opportunities, trade programs or would like to learn more about visiting campus, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

PARENTS WITH BUSINESSES

Starting a business to navigate life's challenges is a common endeavor among families at Murray High School (MGM). It reflects determination, courage, strategic thinking, and financial capability.

This school year, MGM is committed to celebrating the efforts of parents who work hard to earn extra income for their families. Some parents maintain regular jobs while dedicating their free time to grow their business, while others have already established local businesses with employees.

Regardless of where they are in their entrepreneurial journey, we wish all these parents success and recognition for the physical, emotional, and mental energy they invest daily, fueled by the hope that their projects will thrive. Major General Raymond Murray High School is committed to preparing students to progress academically, to achieve success, and to accept responsibility for themselves. As a part of this commitment, the school has established attendance performance guidelines for all students.

To report an absence please call: (760) 631-2502 ext.89005

Leave a message and be sure to include the following:

Date of the absence
Your child's name
Date of birth and/or Grade
Reason for the absence
Your name, relation to the student, and a callback number

When a student returns to school following an absence, the parent/guardian has 72 hours (3 school days) to notify the school with the reason for the absence and to turn in any medical verification for medical appointments. Any student with 10 excused absences verified by phone calls will be required to provide a written explanation for all future absences. This verification must be written by the appropriate professional on his/her letterhead, addressing the medical, and legal or bereavement reasons. Medical & dental notes may be emailed to carololiver@vistausd.org or faxed to 760-631-2503.

If it upsets your student, makes them feel unsafe, or affects their safety at school, let us know.

It is a secure, anonymous, and confidential safety tip line.
You do not have to provide your name unless you want to. The report will be forwarded to
the proper staff to help resolve the situation.

Reminder: Tips are only monitored during your school's operational hours. If this is an emergency or your student or someone you know is in danger or harm's way, please call 911 immediately.
