February College & Career News
Attention Students: Exciting Opportunities and Support Available – February Updates!
This is Manny Rodriguez, your College and Career Tech, with some important updates for February!
I’d like to invite all students to stop by Room 204 to discuss or apply for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). It’s never too early to start thinking about financial aid for college, and I’m here to help you through the process!
We also have an exciting field trip to MiraCosta College for the Barrio Empowerment event. This is an excellent opportunity to explore what the community college has to offer and engage with important topics such as Integrity, Resiliency, Culture, and Mentorship. The trip will depart February 07, at 9:00 a.m. and we’ll be back before 1:30 p.m., in time for the end of the school day. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn more about your future options!
In addition, the Army will be visiting our campus soon. If you’re interested in learning more about military opportunities, please sign up in Room 204 to let me know which sessions you’re interested in.
Other Important Announcements:
Post-Graduation Planning: I’m available on Thursdays during PM school to help students discuss their individual post-graduation plans. If you have questions about your next steps, whether that’s college, career, or anything else, I’m here for you!
Parent Support: Parents, if you need help setting up an email account or navigating the tech side of your student’s journey, I’m available on Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. to assist you.
Swim Lessons and Driver’s Ed: Interested in signing up for swim lessons or taking the pre-test for driver's education? Come by my desk or make an appointment to get started!
Encourage all students to take advantage of these great opportunities. Please come by Room 204 to sign up or email juanrodriguez@vistausd.org . I look forward to meeting with you!
Proud of their favorite culinary dishes, parents, teachers, students, and peers shared their recipes with our Murray High School community through a digital book published in the first month of 2025.
The publication reflects the cultural diversity of our school; you can therefore see the recipes written in English, Spanish, or bilingual, which is like an open window to everyday activities at school, where people from different backgrounds express themselves and come together to make community projects like this cookbook.
Hopefully, all readers will be encouraged to prepare some of the dishes or send us their recipes to continue perpetuating moments of family joy around the meal.
