This month at Alta Vista High School, we focused on Thanksgiving, starting off with a wonderful partnership with Vista Teen Outreach. They generously offered us the opportunity to participate in their annual Holiday Food Basket Program in coordination with VUSD. We are incredibly grateful to have been able to sign up 19 families to benefit from this amazing initiative. With both pickup and delivery options available, we are excited to help support our community during this season of giving.
We also hosted our monthly "Coffee with the Principal," and this month's theme was Thanksgiving Potluck and Rock Painting. During this event, we invited families to share what they are thankful for as we enjoyed a meal together, fostering a sense of community. Afterward, we painted rocks that will later be displayed in our beautiful garden, a lasting reminder of the gratitude we shared.
To wrap up this special month, we celebrated the birthday of one of our wonderful mothers. We gathered to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy a cake, showing our appreciation for her and making the day extra special.
This month has been filled with heartwarming events at Alta Vista, and as we head into Thanksgiving break, I am deeply thankful for the incredible support and sense of community that surrounds us. I feel fortunate to be a part of this school and wish everyone a very happy and restful Thanksgiving
