Definition/explanation
Transfer Credit is intended to evaluate and apply credit earned outside of FRCC to help you complete your FRCC degree/certificate program requirements as quickly as possible. Transfer Credit is intended for Graduation purposes, not registration purposes.
Eligibility
If you won't be earning a degree or certificate at FRCC and are not planning to use military education benefits, then you don’t need to transfer in credit!
Transfer Credit is only necessary for students who have earned credit at another institution and would like to have that credit applied towards their FRCC degree/ certificate requirements.
Transcript Evaluation is required by the Veterans Administration as a condition of receiving benefits.
Clarifying questions to ask
Are you planning to earn a degree/certificate at FRCC, or are you just taking a few classes with us?
Either way, student will need to meet with their Academic Advisor for Prerequisite Exemptions for registration purposes. Exemptions will allow the student to register for the next level course.
If the student is only taking a few classes at FRCC, they do not need to spend the time or money ordering official transcripts for transfer. Transfer Credit is for Graduation purposes and will not benefit students who are not Graduating (unless they are using military benefits).
Steps for Wolf Central Staff
If a student would like to know if we have received their transcripts and/or Transfer Credit Evaluation Request form (Eval form) please check SPACMNT.
All official transcripts we have received will be noted, as well as if we are holding for anything.
6/12/2025—Recvd Trans from SCHOOL. Hold for Eval Form. Emailed.
This comment means we received an official transcript, but have not yet received the Eval form, so we emailed the student to notify them. This email includes a link to the form for the student.
The Eval form will also be noted as well as any transcripts listed on the form that we are still waiting to received.
6/12/2025— Received Transfer Credit Evaluation Form for COLLEGENAMES (DEGREE). Hold for Transcripts.
This comment means we received the Eval form for specific transcripts, but are still waiting to receive at least one transcript.
Once we have received all the required documentation, you will see a comment that included “Packet Ready for Evaluation:”
6/12/2025—Recvd Trans from SCHOOL. Packet Ready for Evaluation.
6/12/2025—Received Transfer Credit Evaluation Form for COLLEGENAMES (DEGREE). Packet Ready for Evaluation.
This means the evaluation is in progress and should be completed within 30 days.
Once the evaluation is completed, you will see a comment along the lines of:
6/12/2025—Transfer Credit Eval (DEGREE) completed and posted for SCHOOL.
This comment tells you exactly which transcripts were evaluated and for which program.
If a student is asking about how they get their credit evaluated, please ask if they plan to earn a degree/ certificate at FRCC. If not (and they do not plan to use military benefits), they do not need to transfer in their credit. They likely only need to have their Prerequisite Exemptions entered.
2 step process listed below to have outside credits evaluated.
Process/form involved
This is a 2 step process and can happen in either order:
Submit the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request form
The form is located on the student’s eWOLF account, on our website at www.frontrange.edu/transfer (in Step #2), and we also email the student a link to the form if we received a transcript and do not yet have the form on file.
You will need to order individual, official transcripts from each institution whose credit you would like considered for transfer.
Each transcript must be sent directly to FRCC from the institution where the credit was earned.
Transcripts that are issued to the student, hand-carried, or faxed cannot be accepted.
Official Transcripts can be electronically sent to TransferCredit@frontrange.edu or mailed to the FRCC campus you want to attend: Find campuses.
Deadline
In a nutshell, students should have all documentation submitted to FRCC at least 30 days before the required deadline.
To expand on that:
Student should have all documentation submitted to FRCC:
at least 30 days before end of Graduation semester (unless finishing final requirements at another institution—then just get us official transcript as soon as final grades will reflect of other school’s transcript),
at least 30 days before selective admission program (Nursing, Dental Hygiene, etc.) application deadline,
or in accordance with requirements to receive military benefits—usually at least 30 days before the end of the second semester.
