Adding A Student To Drop-Ins
Go to appointment center in Navigate.
2. Choose the campus. In-person (BCC, LC, or WC) or phone (Remote - Video or Phone).
3. Enter S# or student name in bar under location. Be sure to click the name so that the box below pops up. This connects the student to the appointment.
4. Click arrow next to scheduling grid, then choose drop-in appointments.
5. Make sure care unit says "academic advising" and the service is "drop-in advising".
6. Click "add to staff queue".
7. This screen will pop up. Choose "first available staff" for the organizer. Choose "drop-in advising" for the service.
8. Type your note. Please ask what the student is studying and what they need assistance with. It is okay to be more descriptive if you do not know the CAC.
For example, for this student declared in an AA studio art (LACD), but is assigned to Barbara Mendez (Exploring), and wants to pursue Psychology (SSEP), a note could say: PHONE, 970.204.8348, SSEP, declared AA studio art, wants to study psychology, needs help dropping classes. Grace Hoag.
9. Click "add to staff queue". Student will show up in the "first available" queue. Advisors are able to see the student's name, S#, services (drop-ins), your comment, and the time the student was checked in.
10. If a mistake is made with the student or note, select the box on the left-hand side and click "remove". This will delete the drop-in. There is not currently a way to edit once a student has been added to a queue.
