Which Students to Schedule
· Students who have an S-Number are welcome to schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor or the Internship Coordinator
· The Career & Transfer Services department does not schedule appointments with prospective students—Students who haven’t applied should be referred to Recruiters for info and assistance.
· Concurrent Enrollment students should ideally be meeting with their high school-based Career Counselor before seeking FRCC Career Counseling. However, we will not turn them away if they want to meet with us.
Which Staff Member to Schedule Students with
In most cases, it is best for students to meet with staff at their home campus, however, a student is welcome to meet with a staff member from our department at any campus.
All Career Counselors will offer in-person appointments at their home campus and remote appointments.
Career Counselor (LC) - Jennifer Lammers
Career Counselor (BCC) - Vacant
Career Counselor (WC) - Jasmine Graze
Until a Career Counselor is hired for BCC, Jennifer and Jazmine will be at BCC once a week for students who would like an in-person appointment.
Our Internship Coordinator is based out of LC and can meet with students in-person at LC or remotely.
Internship Coordinator (LC) - Vacant
We do not offer any bilingual services at this time.
General Information and Process Notes
· Students will not be assigned to any Career Counselor in particular, so they are welcome to self-book appointments with any Career Counselor that has availability.
· Career Counselors and the Internship Coordinator should have at least 30 days of availability set in Navigate.
· We prefer same day appointments are not scheduled, and if it is absolutely necessary, we ask that you please connect with the staff member directly on Teams Chat to confirm this.
· Students can check in for appointments as early as 15 minutes in advance, but please do not have them check in before this time.
o Students should be guided to wait in the following areas based on campus:
§ BCC: Please wait in the chair area outside of the Testing Center.
§ LC: Please wait in the chair area outside the Testing Center/Campus Security.
§ WC: Please walk over to the Peak C0952. (Students can also check in directly at the Peak.)
· Students who arrive late should be checked in as long as there is at least 40 minutes remaining in the appointment.
· Appointment lengths should not be changed.
· The Career Services/Wolf Central Teams Chat should be used to address urgent issues in real time. Other issues that arise can be brought to the attention of the Student Affairs Specialist (Kim) or the Director (vacant).
· The Student Affairs Specialist (Kim) inform students of appointment cancelations when staff members are out sick and the appointment can’t be moved to another staff for the same time. Students can book a new appointment in Navigate or through Wolf Central.
Important Scheduling Guidelines
When scheduling students, please be sure to select the correct appointment type based on the student’s needs and the stated purpose of the meeting. This helps ensure they are matched with the right staff member who specializes in that area.
Avoid scheduling under a different appointment type just to fit a time slot (e.g., booking a “Job/Interview Preparation” appointment and writing in the notes “Career Exploration”). These workarounds often prevent students from getting the support they actually need. Accurate scheduling helps our team prepare appropriately and provide the best possible experience.
Drop-ins
At this time, the Career & Transfer Services department does not offer any drop-in services at any campus. In the event a student needs immediate support, please check availability for the possibility of a same day appointment. If support is needed in finding availability, please reach out to the Career & Transfer Services staff directly through the Career Services & Wolf Central Teams Chat.
