Definition/explanation
When a student needs to change or update their personal or identifying information such as the following: Name, DOB, SSN, Sex, Preferred First Name, Personal Pronouns, Address, Phone Number, Email address, Citizenship – they need to complete FRCC’s Personal Information Change Request (PICR) form.
Eligibility
Any student is able to update their information, however, they do have to provide appropriate documentation for most updates excluding address, phone number, email, preferred name and personal pronoun updates, which require no documentation.
Clarifying questions to ask
Is there a hold preventing them from registering?
Do they have appropriate documentation to make the change?
If the hold is from a different college, have they contacted them to lift the hold?
Is this related to a COF issue?
Steps for Wolf Central Staff
Check SOAHOLD for SSN, DOB or incorrect underage hold
There is an entry for Bad Address Warning that may be active – we want to confirm or update their mailing address however this entry will not prevent registration.
Check SPACMNT for additional comment from application processors for details on application discrepancies or reason for hold.
Some students may know their information is incorrect with us but not have a hold. We still want them to get anything corrected so there are no discrepancies on their record.
Check SPACMNT to see if a student’s PICR was approved and if so, what was updated and when; this will also say if the request was denied and for what reason. Comments are only placed after review/processing.
Please note that no updates are done instantly – if a student has an urgent need for immediate registration, please check them in to see Office of the Registrar staff or contact AskRegistrar@frontrange.edu.

Tips/talking points
It is recommended that all students have their legal name on their record to match their social security card (if they have one) or another identifying document – this is used for FA and tax purposes.
Students can have a preferred first name on record so we refer to them by that in conversations and communications.
If they have a hold and want to go to another CCCS college, that college can also usually follow their procedures to update/verify information and release the hold.
