Ingredients
For the Cookies:
1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Step 2: Shape and Bake
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork, creating a crisscross pattern on top.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look soft, but they will firm up as they cool.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
