Canon

As above

Modern: Intelligence Officer

Initially working for British Intelligence within the Mathematics and Cryptography team at GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters). After several years, her exceptional skills lead to her recruitment by Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). She moved overseas (non-location-locked) into a new role as an Operational Data Analyst for the MI6. Millie plays a pivotal role in preventing global crises by identifying patterns, anomalies, and potential threats in the intelligence data she analyses.Only trusted partners know what she does for a living (it will be some time into a relationship that she shares this with a partner). Anyone else will be led to believe that she works for the British embassy in a clerical capacity. Juggling her covert operative role with her clerical cover job demands meticulous planning and effective time management to avoid arousing suspicion from colleagues, friends, or potential threats.

Modern: Linguist

Millie realizes that she wants a change in her career path, and she reconnects with former colleagues who inspire her to explore a new path.Millie's career takes a new direction as she transitions from her role as an MI5 Foreign Language Intelligence Analyst to becoming a foreign language interpreter for the United Nations. She's responsible for real-time interpretation during diplomatic meetings, conferences, and negotiations.

Modern: Prison

Millie's finds herself unjustly imprisoned. Her incarceration is the result of her act of whistleblowing, revealing corruption within the intelligence community. However, this act of integrity leads to a betrayal that frames her for espionage, ultimately landing her behind bars. Upon her arrival in prison, Millie is met with a mix of curiosity and suspicion from both inmates and staff. Her high-profile background as an MI6 operative sets her apart, and she navigates the prison environment with caution. She is determined to uncover the truth behind the espionage allegations, clear her name, and ultimately secure her release.

Dollhouse

Millie embarks on a covert mission with MI6 to uncover the truth behind the Dollhouse. She assembles a team of trusted allies, including former colleagues Susan and Jean, who share her concerns about the organisation. She poses as a potential client, hacks into their computer systems, and conducts discreet surveillance on key individuals and facilities. The Dollhouse's security measures and advanced technology pose formidable challenges. Maintaining her cover as a British embassy worker while conducting covert operations demands meticulous planning and time management.

The Handmaid's Tale

Millie's access to sensitive information and her desire to resist Gilead's regime led her to collaborate with underground resistance networks. Her activities eventually came to the attention of the Gilead authorities, resulting in her arrest. By way of punishment, Millie was designated as a Handmaid. She didn't stop resisting Gilead's regime though. Her intelligence and resourcefulness made her an asset to the resistance group Mayday. Millie began helping them, using techniques like steganography, non-verbal signalling, and invisible ink to convey information.
