Very vaguely inspired by Lucy’s Supergirl v5 story-arc. In a mission gone badly wrong, Lucy is fatally wounded, however, in the aftermath, her body is never found and she is presumed dead. In reality, her body had been located by her father. General Lane had been leading a project to create a supersuit which would give humans the powers of multiple aliens, including Kryptonians. Putting Lucy in the suit, with the intention of healing her, General Lane succeeded in saving her life, however, the suit malfunctioned and ended up permanently altering Lucy’s DNA with each of the aliens whose tech had gone into the suit. Her father kept her in a lab where she was tested and experimented on, in an attempt to reverse these effects - some of the alien DNA was removed, but Lucy retained the Kryptonian DNA and eventually escaped.Lawyer
