Zombie Stages

Stage: 1

Stage: 2

Stage: 3

SCP-049 is a humanoid SCP object that has the ability to reanimate dead bodies and create zombies. When a person is infected by SCP-049, the reanimation process occurs in stages, each with its own distinct characteristics and effects.

Stage 1: The initial stage of infection is characterized by a general feeling of malaise and fatigue, similar to that of the flu. The infected individual may experience a mild fever and headache, along with muscle aches and joint pain. The infected individual's skin may also take on a pale or grayish hue.

Stage 2: As the infection progresses, the infected individual's behavior may begin to change. They may become more aggressive, disoriented, and confused. Their movements may become slower and more deliberate, and they may experience a loss of fine motor skills. At this stage, the infected individual has become a "walking dead" zombie, whose sole purpose is to spread the infection to others.

Stage 3: In the final stage of infection, the infected individual's body undergoes a complete transformation. Their skin becomes discolored and necrotic, and their limbs may become distorted and elongated. The infected individual may experience convulsions, seizures, and other extreme physical reactions. At this point, the infected individual is considered to be a fully-fledged SCP-049 zombie, with no higher brain function and a complete disregard for their own safety or the safety of others.

It is important to note that SCP-049 zombies are highly contagious, and can easily spread the infection to others through bodily fluids and bites. In addition, the reanimation process appears to be irreversible, and there is currently no known cure or treatment for SCP-049 infection.

SCP Foundation Mobile Task Forces (MTFs) are often dispatched to contain outbreaks of SCP-049 zombies and prevent the spread of the infection. These MTFs are equipped with specialized gear and weaponry to help them deal with the unique challenges posed by SCP-049 and its zombies, including hazmat suits, flamethrowers, and containment units.
