Maryland's only ocean park has two miles of Atlantic Ocean frontage plus marshes on Sinepuxent Bay. There is ramp access to Sinepuxent Bay. The shallow water is good for shallow draft vessels. Fees applied Memorial Day to Labor Day. Assateague was selected by National Geographic Traveler in 1994 as one of the 10 best state parks in the United States. Home of the famous wild ponies. Maryland's only ocean park.

Milburn Landing Area (370 acres. In Worcester County, about 8 miles west of Snow Hill via MD Route 12.) Milburn Landing is located in Pocomoke State Forest on the Pocomoke River. The surrounding creeks, tributaries and marshlands are inviting for many outdoor activities. Shad Landing Area (544 acres. In Worcester County, 4 miles southwest of Snow Hill, off MD Route 113.) The Shad Landing Area is a river park in Pocomoke State Forest. A large swimming pool is a popular park feature.

Janes Island State Park is nearly surrounded by the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and its inlets. It has rental cabins, camping, miles of isolated shoreline and marsh areas, and features 30 miles of marked canoe and kayak water trails.

The Adkins Arboretum, a 500-acre site in the park, propagates and displays trees, plants and shrubs indigenous to Maryland. The park also offers a quiet campground for families and youth groups. Canoes are available for rent.

Native Americans once inhabited the area around this park, which has hardwood and pine forests on the Choptank River and Watts Creek. Modern campsites are available. A concrete ramp leads to access to the Choptank River and opportunities for fishing, water skiing or recreational boating. Canoes are available for rent.

This is a Natural resource Management Area

2,188 acres in Cecil County. I-95 exit 100 MD Route 272 south for approximately 10 miles south of the town of North East. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers or motor homes. One loop has full hook-ups (electric, water, sewage); one loop has electric only hook-ups and all have a central bathhouse. Several loops allow pets. Other amenities include rustic four person cabins, four person camper cabins, boat launch ramps, a picnic area with pavilions and swimming beach. The Bowers Center offers overnight group accommodations for thirty people. The Turkey Point Lighthouse overlooking the head of the Chesapeake Bay is on the southern end of the park.
