John 3:31-36
Authority from God
31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
Jesus demonstrated His power and authority through the signs He did...No one could have done the miracles He did if He were from earth...Jesus came from heaven...The One who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth...The One who comes from heaven is above all...Jesus testifies to what He has seen and heard, but no one accepts His testimony...He is given His power and authority by God Himself...Whoever has accepted that fact has certified that God is truthful...For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God Has given Jesus the Holy Spirit without any limit...The Father LOVES the Son and has placed everything in His hands...Whoever believes in God's Son will have eternal life...
How do you view power and authority and how would you define if?...It is interesting how we view Jesus' power and authority...He had no money, as if money gives one power...His authority was not political or military or celebrity...His authority was in healing, being a servant, and dying on a cross...Even forgiving and mercy were part of His power and authority...And in His foundation of power is to always love God and to always love neighbor...And Jesus walked from village to village teaching these things, and somehow these ways, His Ways became of Great Power and Authority...
