John 8:12

The Truth Shall Set You Free
31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Why does one believe in anything?...I believe in things almost always because they are true...We believe in the things and facts because they are true, and this basically comes from the mind and how we think about certain truthful things...But, somehow truth meshes with our hearts...It seems, in some cases that for a truth to be truth, we must believe it not only in our minds, but in our hearts as well...When and if you believe that truth must satisfy the heart, as well as the mind, then truth becomes personal...And we know the mind is rational and logical, while the heart is more emotional and with feelings...So what is truth for one, may not be truth for another, if you believe that some truths, if not all truths, must satisfy both your mind and heart...
But, is there an absolute truth?...The Hebrew word for truth, emet means that truth encompasses all things and is from beginning to end...A Hebrew word much related to emet is emunah...Emunah means faith in Hebrew...So from the very beginning for the earliest of Hebrew believers truth and faith are related to the same root word...This makes since, because the God of Israel, is True, the Truth, and is Faithful (to His people)...
But is there an absolute truth?...Jesus stood up two thousand years ago, and said many wise things...He said I AM the Truth...He also said I AM the Light...Whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness...So whoever follows this Truth will come into this Light...And when one follows this Light, this Truth then this Truth will set you free...
The truth is some believe that Jesus is the Truth, and Absolute Truth, and non-believers do not believe that He is Truth and/or who says He is...For believers He is many things, He is Love, He is Light of our World, and He is the Truth...Truth defined as a Man, but not just any man...
I think the believing Christian believes that man sins...So one truth about man is that we sin...Some men sin a little and some more than a little, and some men sin a lot...It does not matter how much we sin, but all of us do sin...Jesus sent His Son to us to die for these sins, little, medium or huge...God sent His Son to die for us and our sins...So not only is this a belief that Christians believe we sin, more importantly God's truth about man, is yes we do sin, but (and this is the most important) Jesus will take away those sins by His death on the cross...God's truth is man sins, He loves man and this world so He gave Jesus to us as our Savior...So Truth is our Savior and a Man...So one day we will get to personally meet the Truth someday...
