John 3:16-17
God So LOVES the World
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Luke 8:43-48
A Woman Comes to Touch Jesus
43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
A woman who was ill for twelve years came to touch Jesus to be healed...She had came up from behind, like she did not want to be noticed or known...She touched the edge of His cloak and she was healed...He didn't scold her, He healed her...And He said tenderly to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you...Go in peace.”...
That Jesus came to help people and to reach our for sinners is no surprise to the believer...Jesus looked for sinners, the outcast, the meek, those poor in spirit, all those who needed help...He helped all of them while He walked the earth...He helped those in need and healed those who needed healing...One only had to believe in Him, ask Him, or touch Him to be healed...The Great Physician’s healing touch was and is like no other...His tenderness for those who followed Him is unsurpassed, by no other Man...The wisdom, He shared with others and He what He shared was shared to all sinners and those in need...Whether it be one’s heart that needed healing or one’s body, He used His Divinity to help us learn about Him...He heals whatever needs to be healed...And we find much Mystery in that...
Author and Priest Brennan Manning put it this way, “The tenderness of Jesus frees us from embarrassment about ourselves...He lets us know that we can risk being known, that our emotions, sexuality, and fantasies are purified and made whole by His healing touch, and that we don't have to fear our fears about ourselves...The wisdom gleaned from tenderness is that, as ragamuffins entrusted by God, we can trust ourselves, and, thereby learn to trust others...When the healing tenderness lays hold of our hearts, the false self, ever vigilant in protecting itself against pain and seeking only approval and admiration, dissolves in the tender presence of mystery.” ...
Being full of Truth and Grace, He showed us love and that God does so LOVE the world and sent Him to save it (and more importantly to save us)...
