John 3:11-12
Accepting the Truth
11 I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
Jesus is teaching the Pharisee, Nicodemus about many deep things...Nicodemus is having a hard time understanding what Jesus is telling him...Jesus teaches that there will be things we cannot prove and that there are things we do not and will not know and understand...That does not mean they are not the truth or are not facts...
So let us learn that there will be many things we cannot prove and many things that we will not understand in our lives...The great virtues of faith, hope and love are difficult to define in words, for instance...These are things that cannot be seen...So these things are hard to define...Like thoughts, many things exist in our minds and in our hearts...Even these earthly things are sometimes difficult for us to understand...For instance, how do you define or describe one of your thoughts...So for us to understand the eternities is with great, great difficulty...Jesus tells us that, it is easier for us to accept and understand what we can "know" and what we "see"...He is telling us there is more to life than knowing and seeing...Also He is telling us we need to get beyond and go beyond the idea of understanding...There are other ways to know and understand...
Believing that God sent Jesus without the perfect physical proof you need and your personally want to know maybe hard to accept, because we are from and on earth...But it must be done, for us to find the Spirit of God and find and have eternity with His Son and the Father...Let us accept the Truth of these matters....
