John 3:16-17
God So LOVES Us
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
The Old Testament provides a foundational understanding of God's character, His sovereignty, and His moral law...However, it's in the New Testament for me, particularly the Gospels, that I saw a more intimate and personal revelation of God's LOVE and that He is LOVE...
God is LOVE is Revealed in His Son...The New Testament, especially the Gospel of John, portrays God as LOVE...Jesus, the Son of God, embodies this LOVE in His life, teachings, and actions...His interactions with people, His miracles, and ultimately His sacrificial death on the cross reveal the depths of God's LOVE for humanity...
In the Old Testament, God's justice and holiness are often emphasized...While these attributes are essential, they can sometimes be intimidating and distant...In the New Testament, we see a more compassionate and merciful side of God...Jesus, the embodiment of God's LOVE, came to seek and save the lost...He interacted with sinners, outcasts, and the marginalized, demonstrating God's unwavering LOVE for all...
The Gospel, when we read it and embrace it, we see Jesus has the power to transform lives...It offers hope, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life...As we encounter God through Jesus Christ, we are drawn into a deeper relationship with Him...Our hearts are softened, our minds are renewed, and our spirits are transformed...And we learn that God does so LOVE the world that He would His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life...For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him...
The Gospel challenges us to love others as God and Christ LOVES us...It calls us to live a life of compassion, forgiveness, and service...By following Jesus' example, we can experience the fullness of God's LOVE and Grace. ..
For me, the New Testament offers a more intimate and personal revelation of God's LOVE...Through Jesus Christ, we see God's character more clearly and experience His transformative power...As we read each book of the Gospel and then the rest of the New Testament, we learn about the One True Living God and are transformed by His LOVE for us...
