John 16:33
You Will Find Troubles in this World
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus' Yoke is Easy and His Burden is Light
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Living life in comfort and searching for things in the comfortable places in life is easy...This is something Jesus did not do...He knew that suffering and troubles are a part of life...But searching for the suffering parts of life and to go toward the problems and troubles you see and have is quite difficult and much, much less desirable...And it is not fund to admit to our own flaws and mistakes and sometimes to the problems we have...I, for one, have anxiety and do not like to admit that to others, and in fact, I have this mental disorder and for years did not really tell anyone...It was and is uncomfortable for me to discuss my faults and flaws...I have read by doctors where that admitting to one's anxiousness and disorder is a form of shame...
Jesus tells us we will have troubles in this world...Yet, comfort is something we seek, not discomfort...So the comfortable places seem to be the place where people do their best to gravitate to...Jesus to me seems as a Paradox to Life...He gravitated to the poor, to those who needed help, to the sick, and to the uncomfortable...He was not afraid to touch a leper exposing Himself to disease...He helped those who could not help themselves...He comforted those who were in discomfort...
Jesus teachings often seem a contradiction to how we view the world...Yet as we look more at this paradox we know the world was created by God...So this is God's world...We will have troubles and discomforts and yet there is more...The pleasures and comforts we have are a result of our Father...All the gifts of heaven are from God and we need to thank our Father for these things...
A yoke is a wooden cross piece that is used for labor and to pull heavy things...Can there possible rest in a yoke that is laid upon your shoulders?...Yet there is One who says, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest...Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I AM gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls...For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”..
