Luke 12:4-7
God Knows Us
4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Psalms 139:1-6
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
1 You have searched me, LORD,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
1 John 4:7-21
God’s Love for Us
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
Jeremiah 1:4-5
God Knows Us Before We are Born
4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
1 John 3:1-3
Children of God
1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
John 16:33
There Will Be Troubles in our Lives
33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Romans 8:28
God Works for the Good for Those Who Love Him
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God is Love...And He is also Loved us first...God also Loves the sparrows...When one of His sparrows goes away, that one particular sparrow is not forgotten by God...Jesus teaches us that God remembers when the sparrow passes on...Then Jesus teaches us that we are worth much more than many sparrows...If our Father loves the sparrows of the air and does not forget them, imagine how much more He loves us, because we are His children...We are children of God...What a great thing, to just be called children of His -children of God...David, in his great Psalm, says that Him knowing this is too wonderful for him, and even too lofty from him to maintain...The Psalmist knew that he was known by His Father, His Father was always around him, and loved him...David knew he is a child of the Living God...
God knows us...He knows every hair we have on our heads...He knows us when we are doing things...He knows us when we are silent...He knows when we sit and when we rise...He knows us wherever we are at, and we cannot hide from Him...He knows our greatest secrets and our darkest thoughts...We cannot hide from Him...He sees everything we do...He knows every thought we have...He even knows us before we are born, as He told His prophet Jeremiah...And in this knowing all about us, there is Love...
Our Father knows our name...There is not one thing He does not know about each of us...The believer takes great heart in knowing that God Loves us, and that He knows the very number of hairs on our heads...He is the very teacher of Love, for He Loves us first...He is, when we think about it, the only One who knows us for who we truly are, because He knows everything about us -and has known us and about us even before we were conceived...God is truly a Loving and personal God for those who believe and love Him...And even though Jesus teaches us that in this world we will have troubles -He is always near us...
We will be burdened, at times, by a heavy heart from death of our friends, our families, and other things...We will face afflictions, illness, old age, and trials...We cannot get around these things...But God is near...That He knows us and Loves us and is near to us makes all the difference...He is there knowing us and Loving us as His very child...And in these trials, if we love Him, He will make some good come out of these troubles and these trials...Maybe as David said and wrote, I don't have to understand this...I just need to trust in Him and that such knowledge is too wonderful for me, and too lofty for me to attain...
