John 16:29-33
Troubles in This World
29 Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Before Jesus' arrest and death, He tells them many things about Himself and His Father...He ends this section by saying, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace...In this world you will have trouble...But take heart!...I have overcome the world.”...
There is a peace which Jesus brings...And He reminds us that He is never alone, because His Father is always with Him...Jesus truly believed that God was a part of His life and that He came from God and heaven...This was how He lived -obedient to God, and doing God's Will...And Jesus was truly human...
To be human is nothing less than experiencing life as full as one can...To be human is to travel this journey through life with all one’s experiences -both good and bad...To be human is to face life in all its troubles and doing the best you can in all those things you face...To be human is to question one's own belief (even as His Disciples did, when they left Him all alone, in His hour of great need)...To be human is to love and be helpful...To be human is knowing you are going to live, suffer, and die someday...To be human is knowing that God is near...To be human is knowing there is a peace which only Jesus can bring...To be human is facing all these challenges and experiences of life...
