Genesis 2:8-15
The Paradise of the Garden Eden
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Matthew 6:27-34
Do Not Worry
27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own...
John 16:33
Troubles in this World
33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Matthew 17:20
The Seeds of Faith
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Jesus says that "In this world we will have troubles"...Life does seem to bring on its own set of troubles...When life brings on troubles and worries they seem to produce little seeds that cause stress and sometimes some health issues for both the one worrying and sometimes the one caring for the one with troubles...
But there is another kind of seed, and it is the "faith seeds."...And these seeds can be small and produce so much in our lives...They can be the small size, as a mustard seed...They are the seeds of hope...Which seeds we focus on can make so much difference in one's life...We are much better off focused on our faith seeds...
When God first placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, there was no troubles...I do not think Adam had any worries...It was a Paradise of no troubles and no worries...I think Eden was a place where happiness and health reigned because the was no worry or troubles...Everything in Eden was good...
We might learn something from Eden...When life does bring on troubles we are better off not to grow the seeds of worry...We are taught by Jesus that we cannot add a single hour to our lives by worrying...But if we can increase our faith that is a positive on our lives and our health...When we are focused on the LORD and His Son we handle worry and troubles much better...If we can stay focused on our faith seeds and keep those seeds as the main focal point in our lives the worries and the troubles become more manageable...When we are completely focused on Jesus and His Father, we are happier and the worry and trouble seeds have less time to grow and take root...Our faith in Him can overcome this world...When we are centered on Him the seeds of suffering, worrying, and troubles are less likely to manifest into bigger things...
