John 16:31-33
In This World We Will Have Troubles
31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
Richard Dawkins, who is an atheist, wrote the God Delusion...And he said and I believe this is only an opinion that, “The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.”...
This statement is certainly not an argument for or against God, but as I read this statement it is a poor way to lead a life...And that is from my own personal perspective and opinion...I believe that the universe does have design, and has a purpose, has evil, and has good in it...And if one believes that the universe has design, then there must be a Designer, a God and Source who created this universe...
A life without faith, mercy, forgiveness, and God is not a fundamentally good foundation to life...Jesus tells us there will be troubles in our lives...And when there are we look toward God, there is this Comfort and foundation of the Rock...And when the wind and rain and our troubles are coming at us as hard as we can take them in life, we need Him...I know I certainly do, and I believe Jesus is right and gives us a foundation to live on and a Way to live by...
