John 15:5-8
Jesus is our Vine
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
Jesus is our vine, we are but a branch...If we want to experience truth we must remain in Him...Apart from Jesus we can do nothing...We on earth can have some pleasures and some happiness (on earth), but we cannot have the Answer, the Truth, the True Vine...The search for earthly pleasures and earthly happiness is short term...Jesus is eternal...Before Abraham was, I AM...Jesus existed before Abraham...
We need to remain in Jesus or we will become like a dead branch that needs to be thrown away...Our daily thoughts of His word need to our focus...If we are focused on God, we will love Him and other people...This is the kind of fruit that produces the love God wants...If we can remain in Him and trust in the LORD, whatever we ask, it will be given to us...This is God's glory that we bear much love and are focused on God...And we will do this if we follow His commands...
