John 7:38-39
Disciples to Receive the Holy Spirit Later
38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." 39By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
John 14:15-18
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Galatians 3:14
By Faith We Receive the Holy Spirit
14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
1 John 4:15
God Lives in Those Who Acknowledge Jesus
15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22
Holy Spirit in Our Hearts for Standing Firm in Christ
21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
John 16:13
The Holy Spirit Guides Us to the Truth
13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
1 John 5:1
Believers in Jesus are Children of God
1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
Everyone is not filled with the Holy Spirit...Jesus when He was on earth told His disciples that they would receive the Holy Spirit later (when He left)...So even His disciples did not have the Holy Spirit in them when He was with them before His death on the cross...But Jesus promises His disciples and us the Holy Spirit...
The Trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost...The Trinity is our God, Jesus, and the indwelt Holy Spirit in each of us, who believes...The Trinity of the Holy Spirit connects us to God the Father, and Jesus the Son...Jesus is our Redeemer, our Savior, and our Connection to God...
To the believer the Holy Spirit is in him, the Holy Spirit is indwelt and placed in us by God...Jesus is the Truth, and the Spirit guides us to the Truth...The Holy Spirit leads believers to Him...Nonbelievers of this world cannot accept the Holy Spirit because they neither believe in Him, or see Him, or know Him...
To get the blessing of Abraham and Holy Spirit in our hearts, we must have faith in Jesus Christ...We must accept Jesus and see Him in our hearts...We must acknowledge that Jesus is our Savior... And when we stand firm in Jesus, God sets His Seal, the Seal of the Holy Spirit, in our hearts...
When we are reborn and have faith in Jesus then we are infantile and like a child...We know so little as a child, when compared to our Father...God Almighty will consider our finite and the limited state of His children...We are a child of God...Faith is a sign of belief, and being born again with faith in Him, is a sign of love...
The Holy Spirit helps us see Jesus for who He is...He is more than a man, in fact it may not be fair to call Him a man...He is much more than a prophet...He is our Messiah...As St. Thomas put it, He is my LORD and my God...
