Tasks will be replacing activities for new courses starting T1 2020. Tasks provide a far greater range of both formative and assessed student activity types.
Activities are not available when Tasks have been enabled.
iQualify has a number of activity types. These are all formative, unassessed activities that can be used to help students self-assess their understanding or as a call to action.
All activities have:
The details of these will depend on the type of activity chosen.
Each activity has an option to add the estimated time (in minutes) the activity should take. The activity time is used in the overall unit time and ensures that the overall unit time isn’t lower than the combined activity times.
The combined activity time will overwrite the unit time if the unit time is lower.
See Unit timings for more information.
All of the activity types above are added using the same Activity element from the + menu.
The type of activity can then be chosen from the drop-down Type menu.
Note: The type of activity can’t be changed after it has been saved
The text editing menu for activities is slightly different to that of the unit text editor, in order to allow the addition of video, images and code blocks within the activity text.
Heading level 4, strike-through text and quote formatting is also available from the format menu ¶.
