Editing an active course

What is an active course?

An active course (also known as a live course) is one that has been published and offered to students. These offerings are known as activations in iQualify speak and can be seen on the course cards.

Editing an active course

The process is quite straightforward.

1. Edit the changes required. This can vary from simply correcting typos to adding entire modules.
2. Re-publish the course. This will 'roll out' these changes immediately to any current or future offering of the course.

Most items can be edited but there are some that cannot or will not be updated. In these circumstances course offering admin may be able to make these changes in manage or the course may have to be duplicated.

What cannot be edited

There are several elements of a course that cannot be updated in this way and will be locked when in create:

• Assessments
• Quizzes including practice quizzes.

Attributes that will not be updated (but can be edited!)

Other course attributes that are held in manage can be edited but will not be updated in current and scheduled offerings:

• Course name
• Course trailer video
• Course cover photo
• Course overview content
• Study plan file
• Assessment overview content

Updates to these sections must be performed through course offering admin through Manage during course offerings/activation.

Course duplication

Duplicating of courses is still available and may be required for changes that involve elements and course attributes that cannot be edited or updated.

A duplicated course is essentially a new course and will have no affect on the offering of the course it was duplicated from.
