The course overview text introduces the course to students and will be the first thing they see when they enter a course for the first time.
The course overview generally follows a set template over three paragraphs. Note that the course overview no longer contains generic support information. There may be variations on this template for each programme.

Welcome to Business Communication. This is a Level 5, 20-credit course. Successful business outcomes depend on effective communication. This course gives you knowledge of communication theory so you can evaluate communication practices and improve your communication.
Paragraph 2 gives an overview of the course structure.
The course is presented in six modules and includes four assignments. The course is arranged to give you an understanding of business communication before working through different types of communication. The modules highlight important concepts and processes and direct you to other resources.
Paragraph 3 includes a list of module titles.
The six modules for this course are:
Module 1: Understanding communication in business: Conceptual models and theories
Module 2: Starting with you: Intrapersonal communication
Module 3: Considering others: Interpersonal communication
Module 4: Working in teams
Module 5: Organisations and communication
Module 6: Formal communication in business: Written and oral presentations
As we move to tasks the Assessments overview page will no longer be available and overview assessment information will need to be added in the course overview or dedicated page.

The text editing options are fairly standard and are presented along the top of the text box, as shown below.
The editing options available for the overview text are a subset of those available when editing the text in a unit. References, internal links and block styles can’t be added in the course overview.

Images can be added to the course overview using the Image menu item.
Overview images have different size requirements if you wish to fill the whole width of the page and avoid borders. The recommended size for images in the course overview page is 1138 pixels wide by 300 pixels high or higher. This differs from the recommended unit image size.

Overview image at 920 pixels wide, presents borders on each side.
Overview image at 1138 pixels wide will fill the width of the screen.
Remember to navigate to a new section or select the down arrow to save your work.
