A study plan (also called a study guide) for the course can be either uploaded as a pdf file (the only option until recently) or created as a digital Study Plan.
Each course has can have one study plan/guide uploaded as a PDF. They follow a set format that may differ slightly for each programme.

Example study plan introduction text
This study plan provides an overview of the structure of the course. Following this plan will help you complete the required sections before the assignment due dates.
We assume that you’ll start your study on the day that the trimester begins. If you start later, you’ll need to adjust the timetable to suit your own requirements.
For planning purposes, allow an average of 12 hours each week during the trimester to complete the course.

The new 'Create a study plan' section allows course creators to create a digital version of the study plan. This new study plan allows setting relative dates for when modules and assessments are open and close. The relative dates automatically flow through to Manage once a start date is chosen. This saves the work of adding dates manually each time but still gives you the freedom to edit if needed.
