Artefacts are the various things you can add to an e-portfolio page. These include:
For help on creating artefacts in your e-portfolio, have a look at the Content section of the user manual.
A page contains a selection of artefacts. You can choose which artefacts you put on a page, and how they appear on the page. An artefact can go on more than one page.
To learn about pages and how to create them, have a look at the Portfolio section of the user manual (sections 4.1 Pages and 4.2 Page editor in particular).
We suggest you set up a new page for each e-portfolio related task in a course.
Collections are groups of pages. You can create many collections, but a page can only appear in one collection (although you can duplicate artefacts in another page). Collections are useful when you have several related pages that you wish to group together.
To learn how to create and manage collections, check out the Collections section of the user manual.
We suggest you set up a collection for each course that requires an e-portfolio.
One of the great things about an e-portfolio is that you can share pages or collections with others. You choose who can see what, and whatever you don’t share remains private. There are different access permissions within Mahara as well as different ways of sharing.
Check out the Shared by me section of the user manual for support on sharing pages and collections.
For submitting your e-portfolio for an assignment it is best to create a Secret URL. See 4.5.5 Edit access for users without an account for details. Add this link to a document and upload for submission through the assignment area.
Please contact the course leader for your course.
