iQualify is Open Polytechnic’s own proprietary learning management system (LMS).
It allows courses to be created, published and offered to students.
The user’s view and access to various aspects of the system will vary according on their role.
As an learning designer (LD) you will typically have LEARN and CREATE roles, allowing you to both create a course and see courses from a student perspective.
Changing between roles is a simple as selecting a role from the options at the top right of the iQualify home page, as highlighted below.

There are other roles such as FACILITATE and MANAGE for course facilitators and administrators respectively.
As this guide is aimed at course creators (also known as ‘builders’ and ‘authors’), we’ll be focusing on this role and the view of iQualify through the CREATE tab.
The iQualify authoring environment can be thought of as having three levels.
This is the top level of iQualify, where you navigate and manage your courses.
This is the next level, down where course information and unit/page structure is created.
Deeper down again, this is where the content of your pages is built up by adding elements such as text and images.
For more information on iQualify roles visit Overview of roles in iQualify on the iQualify knowledge base. A summary of the various roles taken from this knowledge base is presented below.
