Plum Island: A Conspiracy Hotspot

Introduction-

Conspiracy theories float around 24/7. Most are more than convincing, examples like the Mandela effect. Or theories about unsolved murder cases. This theory revolves around a testing facility on Plum Island. It appears to be simple, but what is really going on? One hundred miles off of the coast of New York, lies a biological testing facility that could very well be responsible for Lyme disease.

What is Lyme Disease, and Why Does It Relate to Plum Island?

Once you get bit by a carrier tick, you will see a bullseye rash around the inflicted area. If you in fact have come down with Lyme Disease, you will start showing symptoms, such as:

• Joint Pain/Swelling

• Fatigue

• Severe Headaches

Long Term Effects:

• Legs and Joints locking up

• Loss of sleep

• Bipolar Disorder

If you do in fact test positive for Lyme, the doctor will tell you that it will only be in your system for six weeks, as long as you take an antibiotic for the disease. However, many people, after taking antibiotics for the right amount of time, still have repercussions of the disease. People may start having Bipolar Disorder, which causes major mood swings and depression, for no given reason. Another thing that can happen after contracting and “treating” Lyme, is you may have bad joints that lock up. There are the most major side effects.

This relates to Plum Island because they were doing the testing of Lyme during the time frame of 1975-1976. Beforehand, during the mid-1950s and in later years, they were doing tick testing, which relates to Lyme and how it is spread. There was a sudden outbreak of Lyme shortly afterward. In 1981, it was diagnosed and named Lyme Disease.

The Past And Future-

The island used to be owned and used by Nazis. They used it for the testing of chemical warfare. It was secluded away from New York, meaning that it kept the harmful chemicals away from the people. There are many things that went on there that weren’t even documented, causing people to try to find out the real side of the conspiracy theories that float around.

The island has been used since 1954 for biological testing. The island is scheduled to be closed in 2023, next year. It will be moved to another location in Manhattan, Kansas; the new facility is in construction currently. The testing that takes place in the facility is used to make vaccinations, which means that they must contain the disease inside of the facility to create a vaccination for it. Why would they want to move a testing facility, mainly focused on diseases in farm animals, right in the middle of a farming state? According to Larry Barrett, a worker at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center, “The workers keep everything very safe and contained, to avoid any outbreaks.” The question really is, how safe can it be?

Montauk Monster-

In July 2008, near the business district of Montauk, New York, a dead animal body was spotted. This animal was very abnormal, it looked nothing like any animal we have ever seen. It had the body of the dog, yet no fur. It only had small patches of hair. The legs, and where the paws were supposed to be were replaced with long finger-like talons. On its front right leg it had a piece of cloth, that was assumed to be a tagging. The head of the animal had odd-looking eyes that were shut, weird ears that resembled those of either a cat or a dog, and a beak. Yes, a beak on this unidentified animal.

These Montauk shores are 15.9 miles away from Plum Island. Why do these two instances and places relate, you’re asking? With an animal that is completely unidentified, just about 16 miles away from Plum Island? A biological testing facility? These two places and events seem to have some type of relation. Possibly testing went wrong, and the workers had to dump the body of the animal in the ocean, to cover their tracks. Maybe the animal escaped and died due to the elements. This seems to be too much of a coincidence to pass up. So many conspiracies have come out due to the correlation between the two places.

Closing Up-

Plum Island is a mysterious place that has yet to have an actual investigation of the facility. Hopefully in the years that are coming no diseases escape inside Kansas. I hope you think and speak to others about this important topic that has only slight representation on the conspiracy side of it. The question needing to be answered is, what is really happening inside of this secluded island, and why is it so hidden from the public?
