Roblox is a Thing?

Roblox was created and founded by David Baszucki and Erik Casse. The game has tons of mini games, avatars, accessories, groups, and even RPG (role playing games).

Why Should I Play Roblox?

Well for one, Roblox is a great way to play with friends, family, or even meet new people! You can add your friends, join their games, create games with them, and even match avatars with them!

Another good reason to play is the fact that you basically have free will of what YOU want to do! You get to choose what games you want to play, how your avatar looks, and whatever adventure you wanna take playing this game. It's full of all sorts of different genres of games whether you want horror, mystery, or even magical. Roblox has it all!

Lastly, Roblox is a child friendly game. Meaning you can go about playing the game without having to worry about any unnecessary language, rude comments, or even bad adults. Roblox has a feature where you can block a person and report them if they somehow get around all of the protective features that Roblox has.

What Does Roblox Look Like?

When you install the app on your device it will look like this:

Then when you enter the game, you will see your friends list, favorite games, recommended games, shop, setting, avatar, etc.

Yes! When you create your account in Roblox you will actually have an avatar already made depending on what gender you chose, and that is how your avatar will look.

However you can click (at the bottom) “Avatar” and you will have the option to change your avatar to how you want! Then again, if you want certain accessories you need to purchase Roblox games currency which is called Robux.

This can allow you to get special accessories/hair for your Avatar! (You can also get gamepasses with Robux for certain games!) Which brings us to our next topic…

What is Robux?

Robux is Roblox’s in-game currency! However you can only acquire this by buying it in the game, with gift cards, or online. This is how Roblox makes as much money as it does. Robux is used for buying gamepasses (in some games), Avatar Accessories, and even to get access to certain games.

Certain games cost Robux to get access due to it either still being in testing or that is just what the creator chose to do.

You can actually earn Robux by joining Groups! Or even...Creating your own group! When you're in a group the creator can choose to give Robux to one of their members, or if you are the creator, you can give Robux to your members! Make sure to spend your Robux wisely though...as you can spend large amounts of it without realizing it.

What is the Goal of Roblox?

There is no actual goal to the game really, unless you are playing certain games in it. For example, if you are playing an "Escape Obby" game, your goal is to escape and make it to the exit. Or if you are playing one of the games called “Royal High”, all you do is level up your RPG character, meet people, gather items, and role play.

All the games in Roblox are different and have their own unique endings, gameplay, and point to them. So there isn't a specific goal to Roblox, it just depends on the game you choose to play.

What are Groups?

In Roblox, groups are used for creators/youtubers/kids as a little supportive type thing. These groups basically show who supports who or can even be a thing between friends. Groups can also be used to get exclusive and special items in a game, as again, since you are showing support to this group you can get something in return.

Anyone can create a group, just keep in mind the thought of why do you want this group and what will it be used for? Keep in mind if you do not have the Builders Club. You buy this in-game and it is just a special little perk that works with respawning and getting offers in games. You can only join 5 groups- so be wise with your choices.

What Do the Creators of the Game Think of the Community?

According to Roblox.Fandom.com, when seeing their own kids and other children get excited creating new things they felt happy knowing kids enjoyed learning new designs and such. The fact that kids were sharing their experiences, thoughts, designs, and ideas with each other made them feel happy and appreciated. They enjoyed watching kids' imaginations go wild and hope to see more in the future.

Sadly the original co-founder of Roblox, Erik Cassel, died on February 11, 2013. He had been battling cancer for three years. His death was a big loss and a sad day for his family and friends.

David Baszucki is still alive in 2021. Even with the death of his co-founder, he still lives on living life to the fullest.

The History Of Roblox

The game Roblox has been around for many years and even now it's still popular in 2021! Although there are different opinions about this game, many people still play and make friends on it. Some would argue that it is boring, and for others it was and will always be a childhood game.

While Roblox was created for the purpose to have fun, it was also created to teach kids basic coding, game designs, and entrepreneurism. Most of these skills could be used in the real life world for school, group projects, activities, etc.

Roblox became a big deal in 2006 when content makers started to release reviews, videos, and their own thoughts about the game.

This inspired others to play and enjoy all the wonderful things Roblox had to offer. There are those who do not have the most positive opinion about the game though, due to most people wanting the old version back rather than the newer version.

Another reason people did not enjoy this game was due to the constant censoring of words, online dating, and people who would purposely try and make the game inappropriate.

What is the point-of-view of the game from Galileo School of Math and Science?

Aja Pineda, a student at Galileo who has been playing since she was 6yrs old says the game is all out a really fun game and enjoyable to play with friends and is appropriate for all ages. All the games are really enjoyable and unique to her as they all have their own original ideas. She believes the game is child friendly for the most part as they do censor inappropriate words and such but people still find ways to get around it and say bad things which isn't good for younger children.

“I recommend playing 'Royal High' for anyone that's new to the game. My tip is don't spend your diamonds immediately. Save up so you can buy more items.”

Shyann M., another student at Galileo who's played since she was nine years old says the game is cool but if you have an older device the game lags a lot and can constantly disconnect you from the game you are playing. However, she does not think Roblox is child friendly as you can get bullied easily on most of the games. She likes most of the games on there as her only issue is the fact that the older your device is the more it can disconnect you from your game.

“My recommendation for new people is to play breaking point. Don't play 'Meep City' because it's just a waste of time in my opinion.”
