Dream: His Speedrun to Fame

If you have been on Youtube within the past year, I am sure you know who Dream is.

Dream is a well-known Florida based Youtuber known for speed running Minecraft and doing other Minecraft related videos. He is also known for the fact that he is never done a face reveal and is very secretive about his life outside of Youtube. You have also most likely heard of the DreamSMP and the amazing story behind it. But have you ever questioned why so many people enjoy his content?

While in quarantine, people have been lacking on things to watch. They were probably scrolling on Youtube and saw a video titled something like “Minecraft Survivalist VS 3 Hitmen” and gave it a click out of curiosity.

At first glance people would think this type of content is boring and a bland way of passing time. But when you tune in, you see the amazing gameplay and personalities of the people you are watching. It is easy to get drawn in and watch more of his content. Additionally, you can be drawn into the fandom to find out it is a pretty amazing community, despite all the haters.

People making fanart and fan songs based off his content would start flooding social media of all types, and he would soon gain 20 million subscribers.

He is so good at speedrunning, that he even speedran fame!

With fans, comes haters, however. People swear to hate Dream and anything related to him even to the point where many have attempted to dox him. Dream haters would attack him and any of his fans, and eventually, that would make the fandom look toxic and terrible.

The community is amazing if you look in just the right places.
