They are 22-24 inches tall. This is dog is outgoing, kind, trusting and gentle. So this dog could also be a loving animal and since it's not a small dog it could also protect from some dangers.

The way you treat the dog could affect their lifespan a lot, but a dog who naturally has a long lifespan are beagles. According to Wikipedia they could live for up to 15 years. They could be aggressive to other dogs and need attention but just like every dog they could be trained to become friendlier and so the beagle is also a good choice for a family dog. If you are looking for a smaller dog for a family who is loving and behaves well, then you should look at the Boston terrier. They can live from 13 to 15 years. They are friendly small dogs. Since they are only 9-15 inches tall and weigh 10-15 pounds the Boston terrier would be a great dog if you were looking for a dog that isn't big. My personal favorite dog would have to be the German shepherd because to me it seems to have a lot of what a good dog would have.
