Skiing at Loveland Ski Area while the Coronavirus is happening- can be challenging.

Read more to find out why.

Loveland Ski and Snowboard Area just opened the 20th of October this year and is in Dillion, Colorado. Last spring, they had to shut down early due to the start of Coronavirus. Everybody who skis and snowboards there were bummed.

Restrictions at Loveland Ski Area

Many restrictions went with the opening this year at Loveland Ski Area. The most important restriction they have is always wearing masks. Some other restrictions are no food and drink service in the main lodge, and all other lounges are closed at Loveland Ski Area because of the pandemic. But outside between the main lodge and the area with rentals and shops, they have a big tent where you can only purchase some drinks and food but cannot sit there. Where you can request to sit is the main lounge but must wear a mask.

Lifts at Loveland Ski Area

In ski lift lines, they have ski patrol and ski scanners watching everybody to make sure we are wearing masks and that they are always all the way up. They also have other people watching at the stairs and ticket booths. Loveland has two lifts open and normally there are 9 lifts open in total at Basin side and Valley side with some trails open and closed.

My Fantastic Experience this Year

From my experience at Loveland Ski Area this year- it was awesome, despite the restrictions. The restrictions do not ruin the beautiful experience.

On my first day of skiing there this year, I went on this lift called Chet’s Dream. I looked right in front of me after getting off, there it was the whole view of the trails in the mountains.

It was so pretty, and everyone around us were taking photos and videos; my family and I took several pictures too. It was a nice sunny day, though it was a bit icy on some trails.

For me, the drinks were not too pleasing. They raised the prices of food and drinks and their hot cocoa was terrible.

Even though there were many changes and restrictions, I was pleased to still have a chance to go this year with my family.
