Attention: If anyone knows advanced strategies for specific tier 10s, please let me know! I am making a separate guide for more advanced players! :D
Some animals have special stats that are passively applied either all the time or by performing certain actions. You know if you have a certain stat if you see its symbol to the left of your animal followed by a percentage.
One of the most common stats is armor. Armor reduces damage taken by a certain percentage. For example: if an animal deals 100 damage to an animal with 30% armor, that damage will be reduced by 30%, and the other animal will only receive 70 damage.
Armor penetration (commonly shortened to AP), counters armor. Damage dealt by that animal will bypass armor by a certain percentage. Damage dealt to animals without armor will not be affected by AP. For example, if an animal with 50% AP deals 100 damage to an animal with 30% armor, 50% of that armor will be bypassed (15% out of 30% will be ignored), and, instead of receiving 70 damage, the animal receives 85 damage.
The speed stat (not to be confused with animals’ actual default speeds) is always applied by an animal ability and can be a positive or negative number that adds onto an animal's default speed. For example, if a +20% speed stat is applied to an animal, it will move its speed will increase by 20. If a -20% speed stat is applied to an animal, its speed will decrease by 20. (Note: The percentage is ignored when calculating speed).
The damage reflection stat is a rare stat that few animals have. The symbol for damage reflection is a red object bouncing off a rectangle. Animals will return a percentage of damage taken back to the animal that dealt the damage. Damage that is taken by environmental reasons (drowning/suffocation, etc.) will not count. For example if an animal with 30% damage reflection takes 100 damage from another animal, the attacker will receive 30%. However, contrary to its name, damage reflection does not completely reflect damage, as the animal will take the full 100 damage. The stat merely damages attackers.
The attack power stat (not to be confused with animals’ actual default attack powers) increases the damage that an animal deals to other animals. For example, if an animal that normally deals 100 damage gets +25% attack power, it will deal 125 damage.
The bleed reduction stat reduces the amount of damage received by bleeding (more about that below) by a certain percentage. An animal with 50% bleed reduction will take 50% of normal bleed damage when it is bleeding.
The lifesteal stat is a special stat that only bull sharks and sunfishes can obtain when they are on low health. Lifesteal replenishes an animal’s health by a percentage of damage it deals. For example, if a bull shark has 10% lifesteal and it deals 140 damage to an animal, the bull shark will heal 14 HP.
The regeneration speed stat is a special stat that few animals can obtain. All animals have a default healing speed, and this symbol won't show. However, some animals can heal faster in certain situations, and this symbol will show up. Instead of a percentage like the other stats, regeneration speed appears as "__x/s" The number in the blank is how much faster the animal heals. For example, icefish heal 4 HP each second, but if they stand still, their regeneration speed is "3x/s", meaning they 4 HP in 1/3 of a second, or 12 HP each second.
The poison resistance stat is a special stat that few animals have. Animals with poison resistance will take less damage from poison. The percentage tells you how much damage you take from it.
