Attention: If anyone knows advanced strategies for specific tier 10s, please let me know! I am making a separate guide for more advanced players! :D
Debuffs are status effects that can be applied to animals. Some animals are immune or resistant to some debuffs, which can lead to interesting and exciting gameplay!
There are two kinds of bleeding:
When an animal is below 50% HP, blood drops will come from it. When this happens, the animal can be detected from far away by certain animals.
When the bleeding is caused by another animal, the bleeding is symbolized by a dark red health bar and blood drops that come from the animal, even if the animal's HP is above 50%. The animal will take damage over time if its health bar is red, without passively healing. When the bar returns to normal, the animal will stop taking damage. If its HP is above 50%, the drops will stop too. Bleeding animals can be detected from far away by certain animals.

The blindness debuff is symbolized by a black health bar. It is a special debuff that can only be used by octopi. When an animal is inked, its area of vision will be reduced significantly. Few animals are immune to the effects of ink.
Ink Cloud
The poison debuff is symbolized by a pink health bar. When an animal is poisoned, a -10% speed stat is applied to it and it takes damage over time (about 7%, more for small animals and more for large animals).
The slowness debuff is symbolized by a purple health bar. When an animal is slowed, it will have a negative speed stat applied to it. Animals whose abilities involve lunging forward will have their lunge distance halved if the negative speed is -30 and below (-35, -40, etc.).
The suffocation debuff (not to be confused with running out of oxygen) is symbolized by an orange health bar. It is a special debuff that can only be used by anacondas. When an animal has the suffocation debuff, it sinks in the water and cannot move. It will take damage over time. If the animal is one that breathes air, its oxygen level will decrease 3 times faster. If the animal does not breathe air, it loses air as if it were out of the water. The suffocation debuff can be stopped by shaking the cursor or joystick wildly.
The stun debuff is symbolized by three purple stars that appear near the animal's head. When an animal is stunned, it cannot move, turn or damage other animals, but it can still be damaged.
Stun Stars
The electrocution debuff is symbolized by a yellow health bar. It is a special debuff that can only be used by electric eels and Atlantic torpedoes. When an animal is being electrocuted, it will take rapid damage for a very short time and cannot move, turn or damage other animals, but it can still be damaged. When an animal attacks an electrocuted animal, the attacker will bounce off the animal after dealing damage and cannot move for a short time.
The sinking debuff (not to be confused with default sinking) is symbolized by bubbles that move upward from the animal. It is a special debuff that can only be used by coconut crabs. When an animal is under the sinking debuff, it will automatically move downwards. While the animal can still move sideways at normal speed, it will move up slower and down faster.
The fear debuff is symbolized by pink lines in front of the animal. It is a special debuff that can only be used by sarcastic fringeheads. When an animal is under the fear debuff, it will automatically move away from the animal that gave it the debuff, the "fearer". Animals above the fearer's tier will move at +10% speed, and animals below or at the fearer's tier will move at -40% speed. While under the debuff, animals cannot boost.
Fear Indicator
The weakness debuff is symbolized by a dull yellow health bar. It is a special debuff that can only be used by halibut and megamouth sharks. When an animal is under the weakness debuff, it will take 25% extra damage from animals and projectiles.
The flashbang debuff is symbolized by a white health bar. It is a special debuff that can only be used by megamouth sharks. When an animal is under the flashbang debuff, its screen will flash brightly and then slowly fade into a significantly reduced area of vision.
