Attention: If anyone knows advanced strategies for specific tier 10s, please let me know! I am making a separate guide for more advanced players! :D
There are many game modes in Deeeep.io that provide a variety of gameplay! Read about each one below and learn more about which game mode is best for you!
FFA is a game mode where everyone is against everyone else. This is the most popular game mode! There isn't much to say about this game mode, because all the other stuff you read in this website applies to this game mode.
Warning: FFA is a game mode where you can find many teamers. While this is definitely unfair, no one can do anything to stop it. So if you play this game mode, stay alert and avoid teamers whenever you can.
TFFA is a gamemode that is similar to FFA, but lets players create their own teams!
Teammates cannot damage each other or use their abilities on each other.
Your teammates also show up on your minimap as green dots.
Players who are a part of a team will have a set of letters before their name that represents the team.
Your teammates will have green letters, while enemy teams will have gray letters.
A team can have up to 5 players.
To create or join a team, click the button with the person in the top right corner, to the left of the leaderboard. You can also press the "T" key.
A list of nearby teams will appear, and you can refresh it to get an updated list.
After clicking to join a team, the team leader must let you into the team in order for you to join.
To create a team, type in the letters that represent your team, and enter it.
As a team leader, requests to join your team will show up to the left of the leaderboard, which you can accept or deny.
Opening the team list while you part of a team will show you all the team members. The team leader will also have this list, but they can kick people out of the team as well.
Note: Teammates cannot damage each other directly, but anacondas can be damaged by their teammates indirectly if the teammates attack the animal the anaconda is suffocating. Also, in this game mode, all animals (except for tier 1s and tier 10s) can damage each other, even if they're the same animal!
First Version is exactly what it sounds like. It's what Deeeep.io used to look like when it was first released! This is the least popular game mode because many people find it boring.
In this game mode, there is only one biome, and most animals evolve automatically when they reach the right XP amount.
The ground is covered in tall underwater stalactites and mountains.
Food gives less XP in this game mode, but there are fewer tiers.
In order, the animals in this game mode are:
Clownfish
Crab
Squid
Seagull
Ray
Beaver
Hammerhead Shark
Dolphin
Shark
Orca
Whale
Pearl Defense is a game mode very similar to capture the flag!
The match must have at least six players to begin, but once the countdown begins, players can leave or join at any time, for up to 10 players on each team.
Players start off on two different teams as any tier 1 animal, "GRE" and "RED".
Both teams will have two clams that they must protect: one close to the middle of the map and once closer to their side of the map.
The clams will spawn 10 remoras, and when a remora dies, the clam will spawn another one to take its place.
The clams have a limited amount of HP, and they can only take a certain amount of damage before they break and their remoras disappear) However, they will heal slowly if they are not broken.
Once an clam breaks, its pearl will be vulnerable.
The clam closest to a team’s base can only be damaged if the other one is broken.
Enemy players can steal the pearl and bring it back to their base to score!
When a team scores both pearls, they win!
However, if the pearl's team touches the pearl while someone is trying to steal it, it will be teleported back to its clam.
If an enemy player goes too far into the team's territory, they will start taking damage.
When a player dies, they can respawn at their base after a delay.
In this game mode, food gives 2 times as much XP.
Teammates cannot damage each other.
(In Beta, when a manta ray clears its aura, it gets a new random aura setup.)
Note: Teammates cannot damage each other directly, but anacondas can be damaged by their teammates indirectly if the teammates attack the animal the anaconda is suffocating.

Toxic algae is Deeeep.io battle royale!
The match must have at least ten players to begin, but once the countdown begins, players can leave at any time.
In this game mode, food gives 3 times as much XP!
Toxic green algae (not food!) will surround a safe zone where players cannot be harmed by the algae.
The toxic algae will deal continuous damage over time until the player dies or makes it into the safe zone.
Every few seconds, the safe zone shrinks, and players are forced closer and closer to each other, until, eventually, one player is crowned the winner!
Keep an eye on your minimap, because it shows where the zone is and whether you're safe or not!
Note: In this game mode, worms and bobbit worms have an oxygen bar in the ground that slowly runs out and does not replenish. Also, all animals (except for tier 1s and tier 10s) can damage each other, even if they're the same animal!
1 vs 1 is a game mode to show off your skills!
When entering a 1 vs 1 game, players choose a tier 10 animal to play as (except eagle) and fight each other to the death in a small enclosed room!
A timer will count down from 99, and if both players are alive at the end of the 99 seconds, a sudden death round starts, and toxic algae will begin to fill the map.
When one player wins, their streak increases by one, and the losing player's streak will end and start back at 0 again.
There are unofficial rules that all players have to follow in order to keep the game fun for everyone. Breaking these rules is frowned upon:
1. Don't Team in FFA or TA
The Free-For-All or Toxic Algae game modes are made so that everyone fights each other. When players team up, it becomes unfair for other players, who can't fight multiple opponents at once. Some animals are made to counter these players, like basking shark, but it doesn't completely solve the problem. Please, do not team, and keep the game fun for everyone.
Note: Teaming is obviously accepted in Team Free-For-All.
2. Don't Make Negative Or Hurtful Comments Towards Others
Always be a good sport. It doesn't matter whether a player wins or loses, but it doesn't give them the right to insult or badmouth others. Please keep your comments civil. If you have to vent or celebrate, do it somewhere else.
The generic thing to say after a match ends is "GG" (Good Game). Don't say "noob" or "ez" or "get rekt" or any of that. Be polite.
3. Follow Rules 1 and 2
I can't stress this enough. Please follow the rules above. It encourages players to keep playing and keeps the game fun.
