Mixed Media

My main focus for the mixed media piece was the cat and the skateboard in the photo. I wasn't worried about the background and only planned to make it grey because I knew that I wouldn't have enough time to do the design of the couch in the background. When drawing the cat with charcoal I did my best to make sure that the dark spots were dark enough compared to the rest of the cat. 

I used charcoal and ink to create this project, I used ink for some of the really dark spots on the cat and the background objects. 

As for most of my projects, I never know what the outcome of the piece will be.  I had no idea what I was going to do for the background because I knew I wasn't going to be able to successfully finish it or even start it. By the end of drawing the cat, I decided to just do the basic outlines of the couch to show that it was there.
