Digital Painting

Sleepy kitten

Photoshop

?

For this assignment, we were supposed to use a picture that we took and use Photoshop to select the colors from the photo and digitally paint over the section with the color we selected. I tried to match the colors as best I could so that the end result looked detailed and similar to the original photo, which ended up taking a very long time.

We used Photoshop for the entire project, using the many tools provided. Eyedropper, to select the specific colors, brush tool to paint the colors over the photos, and paint bucket to fill the bigger areas in.

As I said previously, this project took a very very long time to complete, I had started two other pictures before I chose this one which extended my process even more. I wasn't sure where to start, so I chose to start at the top left corner and work my way down. I ended up jumping around the picture, because of how tedious each of the sections became. I knew that the main focus of the picture was my cat, so I decided that I wanted to make her look the cleanest and the most detailed out of the whole picture. I think that it came out looking pretty good, the only thing that I wish I had done/taken the time to do was fill in the gaps between the colors. There is a lot of white space left which makes the piece look very unfinished.
