Colored Pencil, marker, and watercolor on printmaking paper

My main focus on these was to really focus on the gradient of colors coming from the shadows and making sure it was lighter where the light source was. Using the different materials on the spheres was very difficult to create that light to a dark gradient.  The project was used to see if we were able to create good shadows and highlights which was difficult because in the photo there wasn't really a main light source.

The materials i used from candy still life were graphite for the sketch and the border, then i used colored pencils and markers for the colors. I used the colored pencils for the lighter parts of the candy and then went in with the markers for the darker shadows and colors.

When I took the photo of the candy, I didn't realize how difficult the wrappers in the background were going to be. They had so many folds and shadows and they all had letters on them I wasn't sure how I was going to make them look realistic. I ended up not doing the letters on some of the wrappers in the background because it ended up being too hard to color them. The result of the candy still life looked like the abstract version of the photo, I think that it looks cool and I am proud of the result.
